A Raku-ware tea bowl with a white glazed rim called Fujisan — Mount Fuji. Kōetsu was a calligrapher, lacquer master, and sword-polisher as well. A bowl meant to be cradled.
Calligraphy by Kōetsu over a printed background of Chinese lions and crab-finger grass — a collaboration with Sōtatsu at their Takagamine artist community. Ink and design as one gesture.
