Anuradhapura- The Abhayagiri Dágoba. View from the west. This Dágoba was built by King Walagam Báhu in the first century before Christ. It is an enormous mass of solid brickwork, 401 feet in diameter at the base, and, although originally much higher, is at the present time about 236 feet in height.
