Death

The Death region holds civilizationally specific articulations of the relation to mortality. Each tradition included is held within its own conceptual structure — its own vocabulary, its own practices, its own atmospheric register — without absorption into a comparative meta-frame that would erase what the civilizational specificity preserves.

The region is bounded. It does not attempt comprehensive coverage of any tradition's death-relation, nor of the cross-civilizational range of such relations. What is rendered is rendered with care; what is not yet rendered remains deferred rather than promised. The unfilled regions are part of the architecture's structural commitment to non-totalization.

The atmospheric register of the region is gravity — not as performance but as the consequence of careful holding of what the materials are. Reading slowly here is the work the region supports.
